Soak up the natural world by walking along quiet country lanes, through ancient woods or take in breath-taking views along the Atlantic coast. Stroll along a beach, spot the wildlife, or visit our local 13th Century pub a short drive away. Or just unwind in cosy surroundings in front of the wood burner, catching up with your favourite programmes, completing a jigsaw or creating a delicious meal. Described by previous guests as a ‘home-from-home’, The Corn Store provides tasteful, contemporary accommodation. This conversion is on the edge of Marsland Nature Reserve in a quiet hamlet, an ideal base for exploring North Devon and Cornwall, and a short drive from the attractive coastal town of Bude, with its beaches, sea pool, and independent shops. We love to share our local knowledge with guests, and provide guides and recommendations so they can get the most from their well-earned break; and are close by if help is needed. Guests can be reassured that we have gaps between bookings so we can ensure the accommodation is maintained and cleaned to a high standard. We take pride in trying to make your stay enjoyable and stress free so you can return home with fond memories of your stay in the Corn Store. This well thought out new first floor conversion combines original features with contemporary design. Treat yourself to breakfast on the balcony, enjoy the walk-in shower, curl up in front of the wood burner, or try out some stunning coastal walks. This light and spacious double bed apartment has been completed to a very high standard, offering guests a home from home experience. Its attractive Victorian stone exterior and spacious balcony give it pride of place in our courtyard, with parking directly outside. Guests need to be mobile enough to negotiate a flight of steps up to the front door, and will need a car to get around. We’re no longer a working farm but often you’ll see a local farmer’s cattle in our field, or wild deer in the valley from the mezzanine . We've also had Canada geese and wild ducks rearing their young near our wildlife pond, also visible from the Corn Store. In the evenings you might see our resident hedgehog searching for food. We're usually able to give you some eggs from our six free range chickens, all different breeds and colour. They are fascinating to watch and each have their own unique personality. The interior is all about comfort. The en-suite shower room has underfloor heating and a generous walk-in shower. The large open plan living area has a fully equipped fitted kitchen with dishwasher, and seating area with cozy wood-burning stove, and 43” smart TV. In addition there’s a separate utility room close by with washing machine and dryer, and additional freezer space if you need it. We provide our guests with a selection of towels, pressed bed linen, cleaning materials, washing tablets & conditioner, and tea/coffee/sugar. There are a selection of DVDs, jigsaws, books and games for guests to enjoy. We enjoy sharing our passion for this area with our guests. We therefore provide a wealth of information covering local attractions, our favourite walks set out on a local Ordnance Survey map, recommended places to eat, and tourist information covering Devon and Cornwall. With our insider knowledge you can discover places that only the locals know about. The Corn Store is four miles’ drive from the coast and local amenities, and 15 minutes’ drive from Bude, one of the UK's leading seaside resorts. The Corn Store is the perfect base for exploring North Cornwall and Devon. There’s something for everyone. Walkers, photographers, and surfers can enjoy a spectacular stretch of coastline all year round. Nature lovers have the unique Marsland Nature Reserve on their doorstep. Stargazers can benefit from the dark skies, and holidaymakers are spoilt for choice between rocky or sandy beaches, and a huge variety of outdoor activities and places to visit. In our own parish of Morwenstow we have the National Trust's smallest property, Hawker's Hut, clinging to the cliff, and 13C Rectory tearooms and Bush Inn. Nearby we have Welcombe Mouth with its impressive waterfall and rock formations, Hartland Quay and Abbey, Tamar Lakes, and the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly. A short drive south will take you deeper into Cornwall to Bude with its sandy beaches and Sea Pool, whilst a drive north into Devon brings you to the popular resorts of Clovelly, Ilfracombe, Westward Ho and Appledore. It takes only an hour to reach the stunning Areas Of Natural Beauty of Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and Exmoor. We look forward to welcoming you to this special place!$
